Library services
From finding your first book to checking your thesis, our services support every stage of your studies.
Borrowing and circulation
Circulation is the central service point of the Daystar libraries. The team helps you borrow, renew and return materials, and arranges inter-library loans between the campus libraries.
Reference and literature search
Librarians help you locate information, choose the right resources and run a literature search for an assignment, project or thesis.
Training and similarity checks
Information Literacy and Competency (ILC) training builds your search and evaluation skills, and the similarity index check helps you review your work before submission.
Digital library and off-campus access
The digital library brings online databases, e-books, e-journals, podcasts, videos and case studies to you through MyLOFT, on and off campus.
Special collections
Each campus library has a special collection section housing Africana resources, local and international peer-reviewed journals, magazines, newspapers, theses, research reports, and government and NGO publications.
Multimedia, printing and photocopying
- Multimedia centres have computers for research, TVs and DVD players for individual and group viewing.
- Printing is available in the Multimedia Resource Centres on every campus.
- For photocopying, borrow the material and leave your identity card with library security while you copy it at the outsourced provider.
Research output and archives
The library archives and shares Daystar’s research output and records through the institutional repository.
Support for students with special needs
The library caters for students with special needs. Contact the library team to discuss the support you need before your visit.
